In addition to providing property management services, Herron operates as a developer, working to create housing for the residents we directly serve. Our extensive experience with people and their needs gives us the understanding required to design beautiful housing tailored to meet the livelihood of our residents. At Herron, we implement a “resident-first” approach, as we carefully consider our people from start to finish. From the planning and design process to the day-to-day operations, our goal is to make our residents’ house a home.
Using our knowledge of resident needs, we also work closely with cities and towns as our client to create the housing product that fits their vision for their community. We engage local nonprofits and community leaders to understand their goals, as well as what they identify to be the “pain points” in their community. From there, we partner with our design teams to create housing that will be both functional and visually appealing, according to the expressed desires of the community.
Furthermore, we set to work on a financing strategy that will serve the project’s objectives. We have experience with a wide range of funding options, including LIHTC, HOME, AHP, READI, Historic Tax Credits, and traditional debt financing. We specialize in LIHTC, historic preservation, family, and age-restricted housing.
